The Linton World Conker Championship

People came from far and wide to take part in this Tri-annual and most prestigious of conker contests on the Conker Competition Calendar. Tension was mounting as contestants traded theories on the benefits of small over large, rounded versus angular. The World Conker governing body (Phil & Sarah, the hosts) had, in the interest of fair play, written quite a comprehensive set of rules and had anyone taken the time to read these, the confusion that surrounded 'Stamps!' and 'Strings!' might have been avoided.

As the light faded, apathy spread and two finalists emerged from the pack.....a sixer versus a fiver. A hard fought final ensued but there was only going to be one winner..... Sarah had hosted the last one....it was my turn to be Champion!
