Green Lacewing

Chantler's October 2014 Word Challenge - creature

Hopefully the word, "creature" includes insects. This green lacewing had parked itself on my garage door this morning, possibly blown there by the gusty winds we are experiencing. Their wing structure is fascinating, so delicate. They overwinter in the UK, and this one is already sporting the late season colours, and will soon change into winter colours to hunker down until the summer.
