St Ann's Well Road

What struck me about walking along this long road is how tree-lined it is. Lots of autumn colours. The area St Anns has had its share of poor reputation as a place to live but I wanted to capture how pleasant it can look.

St Anns itself is steeped in history, and once had a famous well, which is no more now. Though in 2012 there was talk of possibly an excavation to try and locate the well. Sadly I cannot find any updates since then.

Also it was renowned for its slum housing, when this area used to support the lace industry with its factories, mills, and lace workers in the nineteenth century, my ancestors included.
