Great Yarmouth Pier
On our way to Winterton-on-Sea we stopped off at Great Yarmouth. Family holidays in Cromer/Sherringham always consisted of an evening visit to Great Yarmouth to see the lights along the sea front and ride the fun fair. The Snail Ride and water ride are ones that stick out the most but having looked on the internet I realise that my memories are not terribly reliable. I thought we rode the snails on the water ride but that was not the case, they were on tracks and it was a swan or boat that very sedately went round the water and at night it seemed really magical.
Our little holiday 'Hay Barn' is lovely, modern, clean, comfortable, well equipped and a very warm welcome from the owners which included some freshly laid eggs, home-made cookies and some veg!
Ted seems quite at home although he has done something to his tail which is causing him to hold it to one side and not wag it very much. He doesn't seem to be in pain as he will let me touch it, I will monitor and see how he goes.
In the evening a huge flock of pink legged geese came to feed in the field near the barn, such a noise not just from their calling but their wings as they took off, amazing!
