sukhothai

sukhothai...capital of thailand in its golden age, about 800 years ago i think, decimated by the burmese at some point and now, the old city a unesco site of temples and lakes...and i still can't find inspiration...maybe part of that was the 0600 rise and then a stretched bus journey and a feeling of weariness...or maybe i just lack inspiration...i was talking to dave (who has also heard of the ozark mountain daredevils) about hampi - at some point in january i think i was there - and this oddity of thought occured, could it just be sensory overload, that my poor wee brain is befuddled by images seen over this trip...anyway...

having decided to blast up to chiang mai tomorrow, agreeing that first we'll get out for sunrise in the centre of the old town, which is where this is...and then the joy of a shower and another bus, only 5 hours tomorrow and then see what is left of this exhaustive spring up the spine of the land...which probably means trekking, no bad thing...
