Pretoria in October .

This is a very typical street scene at the moment with many streets lined with Jacaranda trees and it would be remiss of me not to blip one of these streets .

This morning 7 of our group went to the Klipkerk ( literally Stone Church) to hear our minister conduct a service in Afrikaans in the church where he had been a minister - it was a lovely service as he had arranged to conduct 3 baptisms for couples he had married and had known previously. For our benefit they sang one hymn in English to the tune Highland Cathedral which was very nice of them although I think we were the only ones who sang it with gusto! We could see he had been much loved and we did feel a little bit guilty he had chosen to come to Scotland!

I spoke to a lady who told me the Jacaranda were at their best on 22nd October - the day we arrive home!
