The high road or the low road ?

This is the junction in the village of Wash near Chapel-en-le-frith in Derbyshire.

A very quiet spot, quite close to a main road and a railway line and yet it feels like its miles from anywhere.

We were out looking for migrating birds and were just thinking that there was very little around when there was sound of geese overhead - looking up they were obviously Pink Footed Geese heading South of East over the Pennines.

We thought 120-130 but studying a photograph there were 154 and I find I always underestimate slightly so it is worth a snap to check for BTO Biirtrack records.

p.s.
