We almost went on a wild goose chase today. I belong to a Facebook group for Foreigners living in Iceland, and someone posted about this wonderful unknown hot pool in the country. I researched it some more, and found a website with GPS co ordinates, so we decided to go there today. I put the co ordinates in my wonderful Nokia Lumia, and it said it was 56 km away, and off we went.

When it said 2 km to go, we thought we might be in the wrong place, and then we arrived at a locked gate, so we knew something was wrong. Fortunately I had a street and town address, so we put that in the phone, and it said 'make a u turn...'. We had to go part of the way back as we came, and take another road. But we found the place, and it was very nice, albeit a bit expensive. They had built some very nice changing rooms and paths around the pool which is necessary, since the water coming from the earth is close to 100 degrees Celsius, and one cannot go too close to it.

We were alone in the pool for a while, and then a group of 12 French tourists arrived, some of the men were so attractive, we wondered if they were film stars...but maybe they were just French!
