Fireworks

Today is Yuan Xiao Jie (you-ann she-ow gee-ah). (Lantern Festival) and marks the end of the Chinese New Year Celebrations. Tonight we eat Yuan Xiao (sweet sticky rice dumplings) It is also the last night for fireworks so since 7:00 this morning it's been crazy. Tonight there is constant thunder from the many, many fireworks being set off all over the city (and I am sure all across China). The tradition of lighting fireworks is for a family to get together at New Year and light loud fireworks to chase away any bad demons that might be around. Tina and I set a few off downstairs tonight then I got some pics of other people's displays.
