The Beach . . . at Newport Beach, CA

Day two of the conference. A morning session, where I gave a paper. The afternoon was free for field trips. I took a walk by the beach. A marina, the beach, tightly packed shotgun style houses built in the 50s, it looks like, and a lot of bars.

Pretty beach, but the ambiance of the place was a bit seedy and depressing, weather beaten--even assuming the high price of property in the area.
