Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red......
A very atmospheric day......a visit to the Tower of London to see the amazing ceramic poppies in the moat. 888,246 poppies are to be 'planted', each one representing a British fatality during World War 1. What a terrible waste of the lives of the gallant young men who went to fight.
It was an incredible sight from the walls of the moat and also later from the Shard (just visible in the photograph). There were so many photographs to choose from today but I tried to represent the vast seas of red. It was difficult to believe that the poppies in the photograph are just a fraction of those in the moat.
