New York City water tower, seen from the High Line, a 1.45-mile-long New York City linear park built on a section of a disused New York Central Railroad spur called the West Side Line. The High Line is a fabulous urban walk, an elevated path through the city that integrates you into the skyline of lower Manhattan--incredible views and a terrific garden. As for the water towers--they are a special icon to me from days of living here long long ago. They just say New York.
