Desenzano

On the bus again, this time to Desenzano about seven miles west of where we are staying. Being a good tourist I had read that there is an antiques fair on the first Sunday of the month. We set out fairly early to catch the bargains!

Desenzano is another very commercialised centre, and even though we were early it was quite busy because of the market. Although I think of Lake Como being quite commercialised, especially Bellagio, it is a quiet back water compared to Lake Garda. Once again we took an opportunity to have a walk around the town, as well as visiting the antique market.

We had lunch at the Porto Vecchio (Old Port) which is shown in the photograph. As this is a panorama it is probably best viewed in large format.

We returned to Sirmione by boat. A bit of a dash from the ferry terminal to get the bus back to Colombare as there was a wait of an hour for the next bus. We made it. A nice meal at a restaurant in Colombare we had not tried previously.
