Hurricane Gonzalo Impacts on Lichfield

I was initially thinking of posting this ironically, but having heard of countless trees being uprooted in the West Midlands and the sad news of deaths elsewhere in the Country, I can only commend the burgers of Lichfield for having the forethought to cancel the Tuesday's Market. It was still a beautiful, bright scene in front of me.

I was in Lichfield to continue my quest for satisfaction from a certain High Street bank. Barc... I mean the bank has single handedly caused me to lose all faith in their customer service. I have been trying to set up a power of attorney to help Mum manage her money. The only way to gain any satisfaction is to make personal visits to the bank and speak to someone face to face. Each time I have made this effort progress has been made (albeit not a solution to my needs). Nearly all business is trying to shift you away from face to face contact, in favour of telephone or internet communication. It doesn't bode well if my expereince has anything to go by. Waiting on lines with no indication of when the call may be answered (my record is over an hour!). And then when you do speak to someone they blindly follow 'scripts' and don't listen to or address your problems.

OK, I'm getting off my soap box, I have to be more positive, so said the trainer on yesterday's workshop. I shall just say that things did improve today, I can now get on to Mum's on-line account; now if only I could actually do something more than just LOOK at how much money is in the account!
