Roisí

Over 30 years ago I worked very briefly in a glassmaking centre in Jersey, where I met a girl from Ireland who signed a piece of her glass for me before we parted and went on to different lives. Her name was Roisí...

While I never met Roisí again, I loved the name so much I stole it for our beautiful daughter who was born 3 years later. Not the commonest name in Scotland, and so people often ask where it came from (and how to pronounce it!)

Today, randomly, my Roisí stumbled across her actual namesake online, and so it seemed appropriate to blip the piece of glass that started it all.
