Made on the spot

Completely unrelatedly, today I went to an impact investing conference organized by a woman I volunteer with (part of the same group that does pro bono microfinance consulting), which drew together people, mostly women, who are working to make the world of finance more amenable to putting your money where your values are, or trying to figure out ways to invest their foundation or family monies. Ran the gamut from environmental/climate change and social technologies to community investment to poverty alleviation to investing in cities and schools, etc. Very different feel from other conferences -a lot of passion, warmth, humor, and people just clearly enjoying seeing each other, and no hubris. Wonderful!
