Two rooms

This image came to mind the other day as a representation of how life is at present. I feel I live, mentally, in two rooms: in one I have the memories and all that remains of my forty years with Teleri; in the other is my life as it is now, with M. It's disorienting to switch between the two, sometimes without warning. Both rooms have positive things, both have challenges.

I hadn't thought that the difference in light level would be so obvious: a result of the time of day I took the photo. I have no notion which room represents which state of mind - I just wanted to take the image and see what happens.
