Womens' cooperative - Azizi

Our last school visit was near Muhanga - Rwanda's secone largest town. After the visit we stopped at Azizi Life - a company that buys products from local artisans and sells them both in Rwanda and worldwide.

They also offer the possibility to meet some of their artisans so we took the chance to spend the afternoon with a group of women from a local cooperative who weave baskets and jewellery. They happily invited us to their home where we learnt how to harvest sisal, colour it and weave our own bracelets.

A wonderful opportunity to get to kow these women and their children and to support their community!

PS take a look at Azizi's website - you may find something you like ;-)
