Aubergines

Rather than get stuck into a couple of recorded episodes of Ballykissangel, as has been the norm over recent weekends, Carl and I went for a walk this afternoon.

Our route took us along Dún Laoghaire seafront to Sandycove and the Forty Foot, then back to the farmers market in the People's Park (hence the aubergine blip), then up to Marine Road via the Royal Marine Hotel, in to the Forty Foot bar (much spoiled after its recent revamp), and back along George's Street. A good walk, a nice change, and quite invigorating.

At one point we thought of having coffee upstairs in Hughes & Hughes book shop, but that was not to be since the doors were closed and a notice informed us that Hughes & Hughes have gone into receivership.

I was back home before six, and got some work done. Time for bed now to rest up in preparation for the second week of cardiac rehab.
