Fishermen, Stanley Park
Liverpool parks (2). This must be the only heron with a choice of premiership football teams, each less than half a mile away. Stanley Park was designed by Edward Kemp and opened in 1870. At the time the press complained that its "tortuous walks, costly shrubbery and gorgeous flower beds were excessive for a People's Park". I have rarely visited since I moved from the north end of the city, and local residents complain that all the events go to Sefton Park, in the south. They have a point.
