Trivia
Couple of odd things about this Ford Ranger we bought.
Whoever originally bought it, did some touring with it behind an RV from what we can tell. The clues are a couple of holes in the front grill that match holes in the front body frame (probably for towing with an A frame), a socket up front that operates lights on the Ranger, and then this contraption on the rear diff.
Essentially, inside the cabin under the drivers seat is a knob, which is connected to this lot. Pull the knob (finar finar) and it disengages the crankshaft from the diff, which allows the vehicle to be towed long distances.
And there are some relays which don't seem to be connected to the dash in anyway - they are just left dangling - which means someone has been at it.
Plus I noticed the wheels on this are alloy, so what with the bigger engine, the better gearbox, the longer bed, and now the alloy wheels, this really wasn't the average Ranger off the lot. And looking on the title document, the previous owner took it from 35k miles to 110k in 7 years, which means in it's first 10 years of life, it roughly covered 35k miles.
