Puddling

After many heavy showers during the day, the late afternoon was clear and sunny. I took Mr H and his new camera, as well as Young L (in charge of my Nikon), to the Western Springs Lake. I took the Lumix super zoom.

Most of the water birds were out of the lake and on the big grassed area nearby. Courtesy of the day's rainfall, there were numerous puddles in the grass. This duck and her five ducklings ran from puddle to puddle, and gained our full attention. Both boys got at least one excellent photo of these same birds in this very puddle.

I can see many hours of activity ahead.
