I think the message is clear - there is no access via this door! I have spent most of the day on the phone to the water board trying to get them to do their job and turn up as promised. After many phone calls of complaint to several departments, a rather cross man arrived having been pulled off another job. He did not do any further tests but said a team would arrive tomorrow morning to dig up the road. He said that if the leak was at the joint under the road between the neighbour's pipe and the sewer, they might send me the bill. I don't think that one is going to be paid by me somehow! Still, I profited from the time stuck indoors to do some packing in preparation for a break near Nice.
