Car guard

In South Africa when you park your car some helpful person will come along and offer to guard your car while you go shopping.

In Knysna the community have embraced this idea to the level where the town has removed the parking meters and instead a customer pays the car guard the equivalent rate that the parking would have been (around R2 per 20 minutes (about 30 US cents)).
