Pinchas Zukerman about to conduct Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra with a performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 in A major , the climax of an excellent evening of music at the Usher Hall.

With a programme which also included Vaughn Williams, John Estacio and Max Bruch as a remembrance of Canadian soldiers in the Great War, the concert ended with a moving tribute to Corporal Nathan Cirillo, the reservist murdered in Ottowa, in the form of an excerpt from Elgar's Serenade For Strings.
