How Sweet it is!

The native waratah's are not having their best year this year but we have been fortunate enough to enjoy two beauties that have been growing just off the dirt road as we head into town. We were both really disappointed this afternoon to see that someone had picked one of the flowers. Such a shame as many people have never seen a waratah growing in its natural state. I guess it could be worse, they could have taken both of them.

I had a laugh to see the little insect enjoying the nectar. They must be delicious once they get to this stage of the cycle and you will often see the birds feasting on them.
