Curlew

Another common bird that I don't think I've blipped with before.
Today a birding friend arrived for a few days and the afternoon was spent catching up with some of the local birds. This was one of them. Common enough for one not to really look at them but they do repay a second glance. With a mournful call and a spectacular bill, a bird that shouldn't be ignored.
Looking forward to catching up with some more birds tomorrow.
