First eve of the Jazzblues festival weekend - Songs from a Small Train in the local church. Songs inspired by the Tamar Valley Line and interviews with travellers turned into songs. Also accounts and songs from asylum seekers from Plymouth who come to play table tennis in the village hall. All of it was poignant, uplifting, harrowing, sad in turn - train journeys being the metaphor for journeys through life. The church was a wonderful setting and it was standing room only at the back!
Parking was a giddy nightmare and as I was running late from putting the chickens to bed on the allotment I had driven up the hill in my car!! Ended up parking at the allotment and walking up the country road in the pitch dark!!
