Wind-powered walk
A low-level circuit in the Pentlands today, as the 22-24mph winds precluded any attempts on the tops. As it was, there were moments when it seemed lead boots or anchors might come in handy.
This is the view eastwards as we came out of the Green Cleugh after walking west round from Harlaw to Thriepmuir reservoir then south into the hills. The rest of the walk took us along to Flotterstone reservoir then north again to Bonaly, Torduff and Clubbiedean Reservoirs before heading west back against the wind via Easter Kinleith to Harlaw.
Happily, a very good coffee-shop in a van has started business by the visitor centre so a flat white and pear-and-ginger cake restored the senses after the 20km buffeting.
