Fox patrol

This is a portrait of a doggy dilemma. Bentley is being beautifully behaved, doing as he is told in response to the 'Sit!' command. But every fibre of his being is drawn towards the French windows, where he has just spotted out of the corner of his eye a young fox scavenging for food on the lawn.

Our Pointer is desperate to do what is instinctive to his breed, to race to the window and point. Fox patrol is his favourite hobby, and his entire body quivers with alert excitement when he spots one.

Today has been a total chill-out Saturday. Now looking forward to a coach potato evening, and an extra hour in bed tonight. Don't forget to put the clock back everyone ...
