What a Day!!
It's been a busy Saturday for us for a change. Rik went off to collect the Grace Trust deliveries down at Samares on the southeast coast this morning. When he had just finished loading the groceries and went to start the car, nothing happened. The battery seemed to be OK as the car locked and the lights worked, but that was it. We went back to check on it later but it still wouldn't do anything. Unless it springs to life tomorrow it will have to stay put until Monday, when we will ask the garage to collect and fix it. Fortunately we've got the car booked in this week for a service, so hopefully it won't be too much upheaval for them. They are a nice bunch of guys and we trust them to give us good advice as the car is now 10 years old. So depending on the problem it might not be worth fixing. Saying that it is a lovely car and it would still probably be more expensive to buy another car rather than fix this one.
We also popped to see Mum via Aunty who had been cooking for her freezer and others. Mum had hurt her ankle the other day and so was not up to driving down to collect the food. Her ankle is so much better than I anticipated so that's a relief.
This photo is of The Liberation Sculpture in Liberation Square that we walked by this morning when we popped into town for a couple of hours. It's my entry for chantler63's October Word Challenge - Culture It's a lovely piece of public art that captures the feeling of Liberation.
I'm certainly going to enjoy the extra hour tonight with the clocks going back, but not looking forward to the dark evenings.
