The Morning Walk

A morning ritual is taking place.

CJ, a Golden Retriever, and Jim, a neighbor, are heading out toward the mountains for their early exercise.

I like this photo because it tells a story. It pictures the bonding between a man and his faithful canine companion.

Actually, this was the 32nd of my pre-dawn shots for today. The other 31 were "just sunrise over the mountains shots" which can be done every day. Capturing CJ and Jim in action is special.

You may wonder about my interest in the mountains. They fascinate me because I spent most of my life in the flatlands of the American Midwest where there are only hills. There was no reason to study geology.
