Hanging Coffin

We took a smaller boat to go up one of the tributaries. Along the cliffs there were hanging coffins, these are all in excess of 300 years old as the practice has now ceased. In the 1970's the Red Guards destroyed these as part of their attempt to eradicate history they did not agree with or saw as superstitious. This one is fortunate to have survived.
