The Album of 2014

The new Twilight Sad platter is outstanding.

My pre-order signed copy arrived yesterday and after giving it a blast I am thinking it could be my Album of 2014.

I'm not one of these music lovers who is blinded by faith for any artist I love - the latest Mogwai offering, complete with vocals, left me flat (if you want Sonic Youth then just go listen to a Sonic Youth album). Mogwai are still one of my favourite bands though.

The last Twilight Sad album was my least favourite Sad release, although I did still like it and appreciated the industrial influences.

But this album stands tall on its own two feet as being just a great album.
