Whoopers are back!

I've been excitedly waiting for my return visit to Martin Mere as it's the start of the influx of the Winter visitors. This means thousands of Whooper Swans, Bewicks and Pink-footed Geese will be arrivingover the next fewweeks.

It's just amazing to see them coming in. The sky is never empty of their silhouettes. I arrived not long before the afternoon feed, so positioned myself in the Swan link hide and waited for the wheelbarrow!

There was plenty of action, squabbling, wing flapping and whooping! I waited a while to get a shot of a single bird.
