Carol's ramblings

Treat day

Finally got round to "spending" our afternoon tea for two voucher given to us by my brother and his wife for Christmas 2013! I had booked it a few weeks ago, mindful that it had to be used by the beginning of November.

With the clocks going back, that gave us a bit extra laziness with getting up this morning and then getting into Windsor. Lovely town, lots of tourists and shoppers but not too many making it like sardines. Arrived in plenty of time, mooched around the shops/lanes and wandered down to the river. The NHS were holding an awareness session for Stoptober, hence the person dressed in pink with the blue hair, there was also a steel band playing adding to the atmosphere. (Found an old red telephone box that had been painted with the Queen and Kate on it.)

We had booked into The Crooked House tea room for the afternoon tea and you can see the spread we had - pot of tea/coffee each, 8 quarters of sandwiches (choice of 2 fillings on white or brown bread) plus 2 warm scones with jam and clotted cream - STUFFED. Each table had a single rose on, beautiful colour.

Nice to have time away from home talking with each other about future wishes and plans and just general conversation, doesn't happen often enough.

Thank you Paul & Julie.
