One life out of 888,246 that died during WWI is represented by this single poppy.

Colchester and Cambridge both had populations of just over 121,000 in 2011. Christchurch, NZ, had a population of 367,700 in 2011 - just a thought!

I was torn between this and this shot of many poppies which made me think of bodies piled up in the mud and mire around the trenches.

I wish it had been quieter around the Tower so I could have stopped and had a think.
