Trailing across the tarmac

Nobody much about this morning when I headed up the hill (or on the way down for that matter). This snail was making surprisingly rapid progress across the footpath, so a subject fo a blip, I thought, there not being too much else on offer. It is Helix aspersa, the garden snail, and is not native to New Zealand.
