Homemade Bread
Hi Tom
Yes I did make this bread and miracle of miracles I didn't burn it. The problem is, it's actually so good we can't stop eating it. We have this and dad's homemade tomato soup for tea tonight.
Had a very full day today.....and I've loved it.
I got up early and went out on my bike. Loved my ride. Being out in the fresh air, early morning, is one of my favourite things.
When I got home I changed quickly and drove to West Mersea. Met up with Nick, Hollie, Louie and Ross. We went for lunch in a shed. It was a largish shed and sold only seafood. You take your own bread and wine and they supply the seafood and salad. It was delicious. For the first time I had a cooked oyster. It was grilled with cream, mushrooms and cheese...it was so nice.
As you know Mersea gets cut off by the tide. We just managed to get off the island in time or we would have been stuck for a few hours. The water was all across the road as we left but not high enough to stop us getting over....although some people didn't chance it...I think we get used to driving through flood water living here.
Made the bread when I got in and while it was cooking I went out in the garden and did a whole lot of gardening.
Came back in to sort the bread out and went back out in the garden until it got so dark I couldn't see what I was doing.
I'm now watching TV with my feet up and looking forward to my soup and bread.
