An Unexpected Visitor

The mild fall weather has produced a butterfly! I was pleased to see this red admiral fluttering around the vegetable garden this morning. He posed quite nicely for me on a Swiss chard leaf.

We took a bike ride to West Denmark later in the afternoon. Was surprised to find that this circuit contains an actual heart-pumping, lactic acid-inducing hill! Mr. L likes hills, he likes to feel his quads burn and he rides for exercise. Me, I like the outdoors, the to see the countryside and to smell the butterflies. So to speak.
