Friends of Walter may recognise one of his Spoonerisms.
We sit in our Garden room for our meals, lit after dark mainly by soffit lights. We have been watching this web for some time, just outside the window. It is clearly well tended - some days a bit tatty, the next day completely repaired. We often see the spider catching small flies. I did try to catch a picture with the spider in residence, but she seems to mainly reside up in the eaves, and only descends when a fly hits the web. Shortly after I took this picture, she did pop down, but she left again before I could sort out the lighting.
We have had another busy day. We painted the shed which serves as Walter's woodwork workshop, and did a little more bulb planting. Walter has dug up the grass around some of our trees, and we will plant some more bulbs there. Walter bought a "job lot" of mixed bulbs, but it didn't include some plants that I really wanted, so I ended up buying quite a lot more. We should have a very good show in the spring.
I still haven't done the ironing - that delight awaits me tomorrow.
