The long way home
Let the train take the strain!
We did, on what must be the warmest day of October ever, Lola and I travelled back from Guildford to Yorkshire on several trains!
To say Lola had never been on a train before, or even near a train she coped miraculously well with the epic journey.
It was really busy so we had to stand for the first Southern Rail ride into London, then after a quick breath of air at Waterloo we headed for the Bakerloo line. There are no lifts on that line, so a helpful underground guard opened up a static escalator for us to go down, then a quick platform change onto the Victoria Line to get to Kings Cross Station.
Kings Cross was looking beautiful bathed in warm red lighting with a magnificent huge poppy for Remembrance Day. Being Half Term it was bustling, Lola took it all in her stride like a seasoned traveller!
Had a great seat on the train to Leeds with lots of space for us both. Everybody that passed by wanted to talk to Lola, stroke Lola, take Lola home, consequently I didn't get a chance to read my specially downloaded book.
Final train from leeds to Halifax I met a couple of Rockies who were singing on Breakfast TV this morning, spreading the Rock Choir word......
My kind SIL picked me up from the station, seems like one great long adventure for Lola who is so pleased to be home she is refusing to go for a walk.
