Rub-a-dub-dub

There was a time when nearly every women of the household would use one of these. I still remember my Gran on her hands and knees scrubbing away on the front doorstep. Why people wanted to habitually scrub the step I don't know-perhaps our future descendants will ask why we went around glued to a mobile phone screen?
