Margate
Bryan took us on a tour of (some of) Kent, starting with a walk around Gravesend and then a train to Rochester: I tried to talk them out of it, but we had to go and have a look at what was happening. Turns out very little was happening, although when we came out of the station there was a crowd of cameras and journalists. We were up for being interviewed but they didn't seem interested.
It was another lovely day and we had a look at the cathedral, some bookshops, the Six Poor Travellers House and the town hall. Then we got another train to Margate and had a great view of the countryside as we went.
We walked along the prom to the Turner Gallery where we got this view of the petrified forest and some interesting artworks... then we had bread, cheese and cider in a tiny pub, I had a stroll and bought some jewellery, then I had an icecream while we walked to the end of the pier, before paddling back along the beach to the station. When we got back to Gravesend we had another huge meal and met Bryan's girlfriend who is lovely.
I get the feeling we might have overdone it a bit...
