Smiley Salamander

This is a fire salamander that we found pootling about in the grounds of an old Cistercian abbey. We also found a single lesser horseshoe bat hanging inside at the very top of the abbey - it looked so lonely!

This afternoon we were taken into the Bükk National Park by an expert ranger and we found some quite fresh wolf tracks which was very exciting! It was quite misty and damp again, which was slightly unpleasant but did make for some very cool photos of the vast beech forest, which very nearly made the blip for today!
