Another trip to Ronda
Since Ronda is only about an hour drive away, we decided to go back there, and perhaps visit some more of the tourist attractions. And so we did. Well, I must admit that I started with a visit to the pedestrian shopping street, as I was curious to see what kind of stores would be there. I didn't see any European or International chains, and was happy about that, as it sometimes bothers me how International everything has become (clothes, fast food etc.). Well there was of course Mango (but they are Spanish in origin).
Then we went to look at the Plaza de Toros bullring, which was built in 1784. Bullfighting obviously has very strong roots in Spanish history and culture, but I myself am not interested in viewing one.
Next it was time for some tapas, before we continued to the next museum, the Mondragón Palace. Afterwards we had intended to visit the Arab baths, but as we were almost there, I was getting way too tired, so we dropped that plan. Instead we walked the very steep way up to the Socorro square, and sat there on a bench for a little while. It was around five o'clock in the afternoon and the town was rather quiet. Some tourists walked by, some locals were having tapas at a nearby bar, and some old men were sitting on a bench, enjoying some grilled castania nuts (from a nearby sales boot).
We then drove back "home" to Gaucin, bought some food at the grocery store, and Valur cooked a delicious meal.
