The Power Of Self, London

Day 301 of 365. I saw this window today and it got me thinking about the power of self. I have noticed some people from privileged backgrounds or those from public schools seem to have more self confidence and self assurance (for example Boris, Cameron and Osbourne) than others. Their power of self is belief in themselves, they seem to have less doubt of their own abilities (but maybe less self awareness).
If there was one thing I think should be taught in ordinary schools it is more self confidence. I think there are so many kids that are just as bright and smart as their richer counterparts but that just don't believe or trust their own skills or attributes - they're afraid to try. It's a crying shame that there are potentially so many brilliant young people that may never discover just how good they are at something if they are not helped to discover what it is and believe they can achieve it.
