Chestnuts

Had a lovely walk in calm, crisp sunshine at Redcastle. Never walked in the woods here before. Today, noticed that it is mostly sweet chestnut, oak and beech, all obviously planted by the estate.There were lots of jays squawking, most unusual for this area. They only appeared this far north about two years ago!
Collected a pocketful of chestnuts to roast tonight after aquarobics!
Walked back along the firth watching waders.
