Couch to 5k
So here's my (try to keep it brief) story!
At school I was sporty, you name it, I did it (not tennis tho as I was rubbish!!)
As I got older , boys and smoking come much more of an interest and by the time I left school I did nothing!
Over the years I joined gyms - even worked in one for 4 years, tried boot camp , several different classes but I just couldn't stick to it - I just hated exercising !
Then this year I did an army assault course for a friends hen do - it was so much fun but I was appalled by just how unfit I was compared to everyone else, so I decided to start running.
I put a plea on Facebook asking for a running buddy, where my friend Wendy agreed to join me - we downloaded a recommended App - 'couch to 5k' The aim to get u running 5k within 8 weeks!
Massive task ahead especially for me.
Week 1- x3 60second runs with 3 min walks in between and gradually building up week by week.
So anyway the point of my blip today is that tonight we ran 20 minutes - no walks inbetween just 20 mins of pure hell running!
Hence my 3k badge!
If anyone had said I'd be running for 20 minutes in the pouring ran after a day at work I would have probably punched them!!!
So tonite I'm a little bit proud of me - the exercise hating 3k runner!!!!
