Halloween Extravaganza

The nature center at Mia's preschool puts on a community Halloween festival every year. Mia has been looking forward to it all week. She discussed her costume with her classmates. She drilled me for details about the events, food, and amount of days until it was time. When the boys attended Dodge, they never even knew it was going on until we showed up the night of.

Tonight the highlight event was the raptor show. We saw a screech owl, a bard owl, and this beautiful red-tailed hawk. Despite this handler's attire, she is not reciting a poem or singing the hawk a jazzy love song. She is a very knowledgeable naturalist at the nature center.

After the preschool event, Jim and I joined some friends for a grown-up haunted house. Luckily the whole thing only lasted 20 minutes. I am not "haunted house" material.
